Royal Doulton proudly presents a collection that pays tribute to two of the foremost icons of the 18th century Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. This is a limited-edition incredible Royal Doulton Collection. They were first introduced in 2005. Item numbers are D 7234 and D 7235. The pieces commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Lewis & Clark expedition to explore the Voyage Of Discovery of the lands acquired in 1804-1806. It captures the look of both iconic men on the jugs. The handle of the Meriwether Lewis jug is of Sacagawea, carrying her newborn infant. She was the translator for the men. The handles of the William Clark jug are of Old Toby, the French-Canadian trapper who guided the expedition across the Rockies. It's an excellent, handmade and hand decorated character jugs made available in a limited edition of 1,000 by Caroline Dadd. These are number 750. They are both 5" high.
