This is a wonderful art pottery pitcher by Nelson McCoy Potteries. It bears the mark specific to 1967, known as the "Mount Clemens Era", which was the only year that mark was used - beginning in 1968, upon transition of ownership, subsequent marks incorporated the name McCoy on all pieces which makes this pitcher and mark particularly rare and collectible.
A great example of MCM style, this glazed pottery mustard yellow pitcher has a ribbed vertical line design that bark of a tree. It has the MCP marking on the base over USA.
It measures 7 3/4" high by 7 1/4" wide (spout to handle) by 5 1/4" diameter at the base. The top opening is approximately 3 1/4" by 3". The pitcher holds 48 fluid ounces to rim. .
It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. The glaze is intact throughout the entire piece.
A unique and rare pitcher that is valuable as functional item and as well as a collectible piece of art pottery.
